2011 was a busy & exciting year for me musically with the release of my latest album: Sage & Wild Roses! I still love singing jazz, but it feels great to be performing & groovin’ to my own songs again. I’m thankful to be working with some very fine musicians…… my Joy Seekers.
I launched my Nicole Edwards Music youtube channel in the fall of 2011 – so you can now check out some live performances from the comfort of your own home.
I adapted my song: “Be the Change” to be used as a jingle for the Kitchen-Kuiack family’s participation in the Canadian Energy Diet Challenge. They actually won a Toyota Prius for their enthusiastic efforts. CONGRATULATIONS Brian, Margeurite, Simone & Marika!
My two songs: “You can get it used” and “Be the Change” were featured in a documentary called: What’s the Real Cost of Waste by PEI filmmakers Conor O’Brian Leggot and Ashley Prince. Way to go Conor & Ashley!
I had a lovely trip to Mexico in January where I really enjoyed learning some Mexican songs that have been FUN to add to my repertoire. You’ve probably figured out by now that I’m a genre-bender…… I’m simply inspired by a number of styles of music. I’m actually going into the studio this spring to record two ROCKERS. It’s been a while since I let my inner Rocker Chick out. Look out!
